Quality housing is essential to the well-being of every Hoosier. In
addition to work and meaningful day activities, consumers need safe,
affordable and accessible options in their community. Rural
communities, without public transportation, can isolate individuals with
disabilities from friends and daily activities-- particularly during
inclement weather. With the closing of state institutions and
individuals wanting more independence, CDC has sought to expand housing
alternatives available in the area. Currently 3 group homes and 4
scattered apartment projects have been developed in response to this
growing need.
