CDC Resources has provided important services to vulnerable community residents of
all ages for over 50 years. From the beginning, the agency has struggled to stretch
every government dollar to serve our community of rural counties. Federal and state
resources are inadequate for the quality and flexibility required to address the local
needs of individuals with disabling conditions. Fiscal support from county and the
community funds such as the United Way (White & Carroll Counties), Center Township
Community Fund (Fowler) and Jefferson Township Community Fund (Kentland) are extremely
important because they underwrite the freedom to meet specific or unfunded
requirements in the community. In general, we want to become less dependent upon the
goodwill of government funding to meet local demands. Your contribution, in any form,
brings us ever closer to that goal.
CDC hosts several events each year to supplement government funding. Direct
contributions are also welcome to assist us in meeting our mission. This could be
in the form of a donation to pay for life skills software for training adults,
contribute tickets to Purdue basketball games, or provide toys that stimulate children
to visually track objects. By supporting CDC financially, you are helping us expand
the opportunities available to people with disabilities. Money spent on assisting an
adult to get a meaningful job makes them more self sufficient, happier and saves tax
dollars. The individual also has a better quality of life because work plays such an
important role in self-esteem. These successes are win-win situations for the
individual, their family, and society as a whole.
A gift to CDC is truly an investment in the community and helps to knock down
barriers that prevent people from reaching their potential and hopes for the future.
Whether you are an individual or a business, we need your support to sustain and
enhance current services while responding to emerging needs such as our efforts to
develop low income housing options in the area.
Over the past several years, CDC has created separate foundations CDC
Fund for Children and Adults with Disabilities in each of the following
counties: Benton, Carroll, Jasper, Newton, & White Counties. Interest revenue
from these foundations is restricted to projects and activities of value within
that specific county. The intent is to meet some of the growing needs at the local
level through permanent endowments that offset the decline in government revenues.
Annuities, corporate gifts, securities, memorials, insurance policies, bequests,
land, and personal property are among the ways that you can help us continue
important work.

NOTE: CDC recommends anyone who is considering making a sizeable
gift to CDC or one of its local foundations to seek independent professional
advice.
