Quality housing is essential to the well-being of every Hoosier. In addition to work and meaningful day activities, consumers need safe, affordable and accessible options in their community. Rural communities, without public transportation, can isolate individuals with disabilities from friends and daily activities– particularly during inclement weather. With the closing of state institutions and individuals wanting more independence, CDC has sought to expand housing alternatives available in the area. Currently 3 group homes and 4 scattered apartment projects have been developed in response to this growing need.
